#1
To avoid boredom.
Make
use of your boring time. When you don't have anything special to do,
and you're kind of bored, it's time for some exercise. Go run, in the
street, or on a treadmill, go swim, play tennis, badminton, hit the
gym...
#2
To feel confident and proud.
Exercising
and outrunning yourself makes you feel a lot more confident and proud
of yourself. After a run, or an hour of swimming, you'll feel like
you're capable of great things, of things not anyone can do, and
feeling more confident and proud is one of the keys to be happy and
enjoy life at its fullest.
#3
To feel alive.
Now
and then it's good to feel alive, and what a better way to feel alive
than to feel your heartbeat, your blood running faster through your
veins, your whole body asking for more resources, the sweat coming
out of your pores. This is life, this is what we're living for. To
feel alive, to feel the power of all the mechanisms in our body that
make us stand straight up.
#4
To stay healthy.
#5
Just to enjoy.
#6
To outrun yourself.
Outrunning
yourself is also an important value you should take in consideration.
By outrunning yourself you'll feel better, you'll be able to reach
and achieve more and more objectives you would have never thought
you'd actually be able to reach.
#7
To forget your problems.
Exercising
makes you focus on your effort, on what you're doing right now,
synchronizing your breathe, your movements. It makes you forget all
these oppressing problems you have to deal with in your everyday
life, that now and then are good to just ignore and forget about.
#8
To be happy.
Doing
everything said before, like outrunning yourself, staying healthy,
enjoying, feeling alive, will obviously make you happy. Because all
these accomplishments will have a value to you, you'll know you've
done them, and you'll be happy about what you've done, about your
body, yourself, you'll be happier than if you hadn't done what you've
done.
#9
To motivate yourself.
After
an intense physical exercise, the work you might have to do will
represent a lot less than you thought it would be. An hour of running
is a lot harder than sorting papers, or working on the computer, or
doing stuff you don't necessarily feel like doing, but that you have
to do. So go for a run, then start working. You'll see, it's not that
of a big deal.
